Tanks- 

They are designed for front-line combat. Tanks were first used in World War One. Used for the first time in the battle of Somme. The first tank was called Little Willie and had a crew of three and only could go three miles per hour. The more modern tank wasn't built until at the end of the war and reached up to 4 mph.

Gallipoli- The gallipoli battle happened in 1915 and it was known as the Gallipoli Campaign. It was a scene of intense fighting in WWI between Allied and Turkish forces. More British troops died than Anzacs did. Australia suffered more casualties than Germany and Russia. The Gallipoli battle was one of the most famous battles in World War One. In February, the first attack during this battle began when a large group of British and French vessels, and Queen Elizabeth, attacked Turkish artillery along the coast.

The gallipoli is a narrow peninsula of NW Turkey extending between the Darndanelles and the Gulf of Saros

Muckrakers-
They focused on a wide range of issues including crime, corruption and often involving elected officials, political leaders and members of business and industry. Most of the Muckrakers were journalists. Roosevelt gave them the creative name and compared them to someone who stirred the mud at the bottom of the pond. Muckrakers inspired and promoted reform in the 1900s. They discovered that Standard Oil was a monopoly and used courts to lead it to dissolution. Their findings led to the Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act. Both of these Acts increased the federal Gov's ability to protect the consumers from non sanitary products.

A reporter or writer who investigates and publishes truthful reports involving a host of social issues.

Ku Klux Klan

The Ku Klux Klan-

The first Ku Klux Klan was an organization that happened in
the South during the Reconstruction period followed by the Civil War. It was a
racial, anti-Semitic movement that used extreme violence to fulfill their
goals. The Klan has one of the greatest numbers of national and local groups
around the country.  They wore flowing
white sheets and white masks and they muffled their horses’ hooves and covered
them in white robes. They whipped and lynched the blacks as well as the “carpetbaggers”
and “scalawags”. They have a lot of criminal activity that range from hate
crimes to acts of domestic terrorism.  The
Klan was effective in keeping the black men away from the polls which made the
ex-confederates gain political control in many states. Their targets ranged
from Jews, Catholics, homosexuals and immigrants.

Is there more than one Ku Klux Klan? There is no one Ku Klux
Klan. So far, there have been three Klan’s; the first in 1865-1870, the second
in 1915-1944, and the third had been going on since 1946. (Wikipedia) The Klan
has one of the greatest numbers of national and local groups around the
country.  ADL says there are over 100
different chapters in the various Klan organizations with varying members. They
also state that there might be as many as 5,000 members of the Ku Klux Klan
